Carol Anne Slater
Contemporary Oil Painter
Carol Anne Slater is a self-taught artist who is influenced by Tumer and Joan Mitchell. Her paintings are born out of light, colour, shade and luininostory. Her painting style expresses an energy that is distinctly contemporary and she has a fascination with the vastness of the landscape and wild seas. She paints coastal scenes and her frequent plein air paintings have motivated her to express new ways to capture its essence on canvas.
Carol Anne's early life was spent nursing the vulnerable and sick. which took her around the world. She believes there is a connect with the human frailty and art, each having a sense transiency and fleelingness. Carol Anne started a Degree in Fine Art at West Kent Collage in 2006 but she found the experience too restrictive so decided to develop her own style and set up her own art studio. This proved to be a liberating experience and enabled her painterly style to evolve and become more expressive. She has produced a large body of work and shows in the UK.
